HISTORY OF APEX INDIA
Apex Club is a Non Profit Service Organisation which has its roots in Australia and spread to India 58 years ago. On that day and year Apxn Samir Ghose whom we consider the FATHER OF APEX INDIA brought Apex to India. Apxn Samir went to Australia for his training on printing technology and inspired by the Apex Movement initiated a Club in Bangalore in 1957. The club was short lived so also a Club Club at Allahabad. Later in 1962, Apex Club of Calcutta (now Kolkatta) was inaugurated as a Zone 8 Club of Australia and the first roots of Apex was planted in Calcutta. During the Zone 8 Convention at Calcutta in 1975, Apex India was recognised as an independent association.
Apex in India is categorised into four administrative Districts. The Organisation has a National Board with National President and his Team at the Helm. At the District Level, it is headed by a District Governor and his team and at the Club Level it is headed by a President and his team. The Logo of Apex is an Equilateral Triangle with Service and Fellowship as its sides and its base Citizenship. More the service and fellowship it would create great citizens.
Apex India is affiliated to Apex Global consisting of 8 participating countries viz. Australia, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Bangladesh, Fiji and Philippines.
